I never had a belt - do not seem very comfortable!
I almost always wear a Rago girdle to work, depending on what I am wearing. It's a fairly formal office environment (law office). I now have several of them. Very firm, not too uncomfortable once you get used to it. And I'm not all that large (size 16 - 18). I am very happy with the shape it gives me. I also wear their girdles when I go out, usually under a black dress, which really gives me a great shape (and much faster then going to the gym)!
